Wing Foiling and Wing Foiling Tuition

A relatively new addition to the pantheon of board based water sports, wing foiling is almost a combination of kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing – with a hand held wing providing the propulsion for a board which planes on a hydrofoil. Not only is this a uniquely thrilling addition to the waves, it’s also a sport that can be practiced in comparatively light winds (though, as one of the windiest locations in the UK, this is not something Rhosneigr wing foilers have to worry about). Although the cost of equipment can be prohibitive for beginners, tuition from passionate instructors can be found in the village which includes the equipment – allowing you to get a feel for the sport before you invest.

Where is it?

Rhosneigr is pretty easy to find – simply take Junction 5 from the A55 (North Wales Expressway), and follow the A4080 (Fford Maelog) into the village. Although there are a few areas with on-street parking, these are limited – and go quickly during high season. However, Rhosneigr Pay & Display Car Park is centrally located (left from Fford Maelog onto High Street, left again on to Awel-Y-Mor) and is located only a few minutes walk from the beaches and places to hire equipment and wetsuits.
