Adventure is waiting on the doorstep
Experience all Anglesey has to offer from beautiful Rhosneigr
Holyhead Golf Club, Trearddur
Designed by famed golf course designer James Braid – who is also responsible for both the King’s and Queen’s courses at Gleneagles – in 1912. Braid’s vision was completed in 1914 and Holyhead Golf Club has remained a fixture of the island for more than 100 years.
Holyhead Golf Club provides a fair challenge and many a ball has been sacrificed to the thick gorse cover that bounds many of the naturally undulating fairways. As a mid-round bonus, there are some incredible panoramic views from the elevated 10th tee.
The course has membership packages for all ages, and welcomes visitors – offering very reasonable prices.
Where is it?
Reachable by following the A545 from the suspension bridge (or the A5 then A545 from the Britannia Bridge), then taking a left after Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour, on to Church Street and following that road until you reach a right turn on to Henllys Lane, you’ll find Henllys Golf Club just over half a mile down the road. The courses proximity to Beaumaris means you’re never too far from a place to eat or other things to do before or after your round, as the town has plenty of landmarks, tourist attractions, and more.
