Bull Bay (Porth Llechog) Golf Club, Amlwch
Bull Bay golf course is not only an 18 hole championship course blending the traditional and modern, but a spectacular location. While you’ll, of course, be focusing on the lush fairways and superb greens, there’ll be a strong temptation to occasionally just stand and take it all in.
The course was officially opened in August of 1913, and designed by the renowned course designer, William Herbert Fowler who said of golf course design:
Golf course designing is one of those businesses which is difficult to put down on paper. It is mostly a question of imagination and long experience, and making the best of the features of every piece of land one comes across.
Fowler beautifully used the undulation of Bull Bay’s natural landscape, and created a course that provides a challenge both in terms of skills and tactical approach.
Where is it?
Reachable by following the A5025 (Pentraeth Road) from the North Wales Expressway, or via the B5420 from the suspension bridge, you’ll find Bull Bay Golf Club about half an hour along the road, just after the town of Amlwch. The club has plenty of on-site parking and is close enough to Amlwch to cater for most needs – there are restaurants, cafés, a beach and more all nearby, so you can plan a full day in the area.

Sunday to Tuesday
Clwb Golff Porth Llechog (Bull Bay Golf Club) is open between the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm between Sunday and Tuesday.
Wednesday to Saturday
The course is open between 12:00pm and 6:00pm between Wednesday and Saturday.
