Adventure is waiting on the doorstep
Experience all Anglesey has to offer from beautiful Rhosneigr
Rhosneigr War Memorial
Initially erected in 1920 to commemorate the men of Rhosneigr that lost their lives during World War I, and with another commemorative plaque added to the southwest face following the World War II, the Rhosneigr War Memorial is a grade two listed structure with three stages.
The ambitiously designed and detailed memorial clock tower, which is a prominent feature in the village, has a clock face on each side of its upper stage, a domed roof on top of which is a plain cross.
The WWI plaque features the dedication:
Nid diwerth eu haberth hwy meini ydynt mewn adwy meirionfab.
(Priceless is their sacrifice and still as boulders set the breach they fill.)
Where is it?
Prominently sited in the centre of the village – at the junction of the A4080, Ffordd Maelog and Station Road, where the roads form a crossroads with both Beach Road and the High Street. While the landmark may be one to visit in passing, it is situated close to various tourist locations, restaurants and activities and is worth spending a few minutes to both enjoy the craftsmanship of the monument and in reflection.
