Nant y Pandy Walk to Llyn Cefni Dam

Enhanced through community involvement with a wooden boardwalk, three new bridges, sculptures (which include a dragonfly and giant seed pods, as well as the poem Nant y Pandy, by local poet Rolant o Fôn), sculpted benches and picnic tables, Nant y Pandy is a woodland inn turns dominated by sessile oak, ash and wild cherry and featuring spectacular blue bells in the spring.

The walk will take you through this hidden gem (a walk around the reserve itself is around 30 minutes) and on to the Lon Las Cefni Cycleway which will take you all the way to the dam. You then have the choice of walking the whole way around the reservoir or turning around and heading back. There’s a lovely account of the full walk here.

Walking in Anglesey

Where is it?

Accessible from Junction 6 of the North Wales Expressway (A55) and A5114 – which will take you all the way in to the town. From the end of the road, a right on to Bulkeley Square and first left on to Church Street will take you up to a roundabout – after which is the Dingle Car Park and access to the nature reserve via the cycleway. The nature reserve is also only a short walk from Y Cwt Coffi should you need to grab something to eat or drink before your walk.
