Oriel Môn Museum & Gallery

A purpose built museum in Llangefni, Oriel Môn tells the story of Anglesey over thousands of years, showcasing contemporary artists and makers, while Oriel Kyffin offers exhibitions of national and international significance.

Opened in 1991 to both collect and exhibit art and artefacts relating to the island, the museum was expanded in 2008 with the addition of Oriel Kyffin Williams. The museum features significant collections of work from, among others, Gwenddolen and Edith Massey, Sir Kyffin Williams and the collection that led to the museum’s founding – the work of Charles Tunnicliffe.

According to the museum’s mission statement, they aim to:

  • Engage with inspiring collections and exhibitions.
  • Create a flagship attraction that defines the island and its people.
  • Offer a shared space with exciting opportunities for participation.
  • Develop a resilient, sustainable and innovative centre for excellence.
