Chaplins Ice Cream Parlour and Cafe, Rhosneigr

You’ll find Chaplins on the high street in the lovely village of Rhosneigr. The store often voted as one of the best on the island offers an extensive list of ice cream flavours (delicious handmade gelato), sorbets, Mr Whippy and milkshakes. 

The ice creams are delicious and there’s even a hot chocolate sauce to pour over if you desire. The blackcurrant sorbet is also amazing – it’s tart and delicious. 

Open 10-6 in the summer and 10-4 on certain days during the winter months.

Red Boat Ice Cream  – Llangefni, Beaumaris & Menai Bridge

Red Boat Gelato is made fresh in Llangefni.  The company specialises in Italian Gelato Ice Cream with the highest quality flavours. The owner Tony went to the world-famous Carpigiani University of Italy and received extensive training in the art of making ice cream. This explains why the Gelato tastes amazing. 

Whether you visit one of their parlours scattered around the island or their production hub you’ll receive a warm, friendly welcome and can choose from an exciting range of flavours. To make your decision difficult you can choose between classic flavours like Madagascan vanilla or strawberries and cream or something more adventurous like Bakewell tart or mango and passionfruit.

Red Boat Ice Cream Parlours 

  • LLANGEFNI – the ice cream production lab in the heart of Anglesey. The viewing windows allow you to see ice cream being made. There are also talks of an exciting visitor attraction being added in the future. Enjoy a Poblado Coffi (coffee) whilst savouring your sweet treat.
  • BEAUMARIS – Indulge in your ice cream while overlooking Beaumaris Castle and the Menai Strait at Red Boat’s original shop. 
  • MENAI BRIDGE – This is possibly the smallest ice cream shop in the world. It’s located in an old ticket office owned by the Menai Bridge Heritage Trust and was ranked as one of the 17 coolest places to get ice cream in the whole of the UK!  Find it on the corner of St Georges Road and the Promenade. It’s open all day between Easter and September. Fair weather only.

This amazing ice cream parlour has been selling fresh, homemade ice cream since 2016. Crafted on-site using local Anglesey Jersis ‘Maelog’ Jersey milk, their ice cream is a treat to savour. The renowned Sea Buckthorn flavour stands out as a definite favourite. 

The view from the prime seaside location in picturesque Moelfre is the most splendid view of any ice cream parlour. It offers an exceptional experience.

Môn ar Lwy – Taste of Anglesey

Indulge in real ice cream with a rich and satisfying texture… savour every delightful flavour! Môn ar Lwy is committed to sustainability and promoting local producers. Their milk is sourced from a dairy situated within a two-mile radius of the ice creamery.  Their ice creams are perfect for gluten-free diets, free from eggs and palm oil, and the sorbets cater to lactose-free preferences (suitable for vegans).
