Rhosneigr Beach Is A Windsurfing Hotspot

Widely regarded as the most renowned windsurfing spot in Wales and possibly the finest wave beach in the UK, Rhosneigr boasts a picturesque horseshoe-shaped sandy bay, making it an ideal location for exhilarating windsurfing adventures.

It’s a great beach for intermediates.  Conditions are best when there are west or northwest winds. As powerful riptides exist on this beach you’re advised to check the tides before getting on the water.

2. Porthdafarch: With its breathtaking coastal scenery and challenging breaks, Porthdafarch is perfect for more experienced windsurfers seeking an exhilarating ride. Southwest to southerly winds makes for the best windsurfing conditions on this beach. Some fairly big swells can be produced. However, watch out for the strong rip tide at high tide. When the winds are strong the sea can become very rough. 

3. Lligwy Bay: Located on the east coast of Anglesey, Lligwy Bay offers a wide sandy beach with relatively flat water conditions, making it suitable for beginners and intermediate windsurfers. The tide goes out a long way making sailing almost impossible. Conditions are best with N and NE winds.

4. Newborough Beach: Situated on the southwestern side of the island, Newborough Beach boasts a large expanse of sand and stunning views of Llanddwyn Island. The beach is exposed to prevailing south-westerly winds, providing excellent conditions for windsurfing.
