Refurbished to a high standard with six, fresh, new rooms set over three floors and a luxury self-catering lodge, Driftwood re-opened as a luxury boutique guest house and lodge on the 8th of December, with a variety of room options catering for families, couples, and even animal lovers.

With canapés, champagne and tours of the property, a host of local luminaries, and friends from near and far, were welcomed to the grand opening the Driftwood Boutique Guest House, which aims to bring much-needed additional accommodation to the area.

New owners of Driftwood, and directors of Rhosneigr Ltd, Matthew Bullas and Katherine Owen, have been committed from the very beginning to making Driftwood a showcase for the best local products. As such, local businesses were involved in the property’s transformation, and food, drink, and room essentials of the absolute highest quality have all been sourced from local suppliers.

Not only do Driftwood’s new owners have huge affection for Anglesey, they have made an ambitious attempt to make sure that everything the guest house provides helps guests develop that same love for the island, its places and people. From a breakfast of locally sourced produce to evening tea accompanied by an Abberfraw biscuit, guests will be helped to experience the best Anglesey has to offer.

Guest on the evening and CEO of Condor Hotels, Yvonne Jackson was effusive, stating:

I’ve never seen a guest house or bed and breakfast so up-market so, to me, this is a five-star bed and breakfast [with] the feel of a luxury hotel.

It may have been a brief pause before the work of making Driftwood a successful guest house and key part of the local business community, but the reaction to the refurbishment was sensational. Rhosneigr is, as anyone that visits will know, a very special place, and Driftwood will aim to be an important part of making it the destination of choice for many people for many years to come. Matthew and Katherine said of the launch:

We are delighted to re-open Driftwood in the beautiful village of Rhosneigr and are looking forward to welcoming guests to our beautiful coastal pocket. We have a variety of rooms available to cater for families, couples and solo travellers, who we hope will be comfortable in the quiet surroundings of our boutique guesthouse.

Visitors to Driftwood will be in a prime location to explore Anglesey, walk its rural trails, enjoy its 120-miles of beautiful coastline, and take in views of the Eryri Mountains and Llyn Peninsula.
