The predictably unpredictable British weather during the winter months means that we are always best to plan our days out with the worst conditions in mind.
Luckily, if you are enjoying a holiday with us at the Driftwood Boutique Guest House you will find that there are plenty of brilliant things to do nearby to keep all ages entertained.
We’ve utilised our local knowledge to put together some of the very best things to do in Anglesey in Winter so that you can arrive on your holiday with a full schedule of activities to pack into your time away.
Golf in Rhosneigr
One of the perks of staying at the Driftwood Boutique Guest House is how close we are to Anglesey Golf Club which is located less than half a mile up the road.
It is open throughout the winter months so you can make the small excursion to the course and try your hand at what is arguably the best golf course on the island. With a par 68 from the yellow tees and par 70 from the red it is sure to prove an interesting challenge to golfers of all abilities, made all the more difficult by the coastal winds.
Surfing in Rhosneigr
Staying on the theme of sports but this time of a more aquatic nature, our guest house is also less than half a mile away from Funsport; Rhosneigr’s very own surfing centre.
You don’t have to be an expert to take on the waves at Rhosneigr beach, with tuition available from the on-site team. There is also no need to own any of the equipment, with surf boards and heat insulating wetsuits all available to hire from the Funsport store.
Anglesey Sea Zoo
Instead of taking to the seas yourself, you can instead opt to learn a thing or two about the animals who inhabit it when you pay a visit to the Anglesey Sea Zoo.
There are over 40 tanks within the zoo containing over 150 native UK species. With daily interactive talks by the professionals and a range of on-site family activities such as crazy golf and pirates playground, there really is something for all members of the family here.
Just make sure that you check the open times prior to traveling as the zoo does operate on a reduced schedule during the winter months.
