Sadly, by the time we launch the site, we’ll have missed the opportunity to sell you on Anglesey’s Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night events – but while we’re sad to have to wait until next year to celebrate spookiness and bonfires, we can still let you know about your available options for beginning the Christmas holiday on the island. 2022 will be the first time since 2019 that the island will be able to host some of these events without coronavirus restrictions, so we’re hoping for a some excellent events and plenty of mulled wine and good cheer.
Beaumaris Artisan Christmas Market
Date: November 26th 2022, 10:00am – 7:00pm and November 27th 2022, 10:00am – 4:00pm
The Beaumaris Artisan Market, which runs various seasonal markets in Beaumaris, is hosting a special festive market for two days at the end of the month. With stalls both inside and outside of David Hughes Community Centre in Rating Row, you’ll find a broad range of local and North Wales businesses offering their festive wares. There will be handmade gifts, produce, food and drink, pottery, jewellery and much more. Even better – dogs are welcome if kept on a lead (and if you’re prepared to sacrifice some of your purchase from Snowdonia Farm Shop and Butchery).
Christmas at Anglesey Sea Zoo
Date: The first three weekends of December 2022 (3rd – 18th December) from 09:30am to 4:45pm
Each of the first three weekends of December will be full of Christmas activities at Anglesey Sea Zoo – including a festive market, breakfast with Santa and afternoon tea with Frozen’s Elsa (bookings for both the breakfast and afternoon tea are essential as they tend to be very popular.
In addition to breakfast with Father Christmas each day of the Christmas Market, he will also be present in the the grotto, so even if you miss out on the breakfast you’ll still be able to meet him.
You can contact Anglesey Sea Zoo to book tickets for either the breakfast or afternoon tea at: post@angleseyseazoo.co.uk
Christmas Craft Fair at Oriel Môn
Date: Open through to the 31st of December (except for the 25th – 27th) from 10:00am to 5:0pm
The annual craft fair at Oriel Môn was launched on Friday 11th November, but will run through to the end of December. The Oriel and Isle of Anglesey County Council will be looking to support the local economy after a tough few years, giving Welsh craftworkers the opportunity to sell their work at the much-loved Christmas Craft Fair.
This year, the organisers have stated, the Craft Fair will be larger and more exciting than ever – featuring more than 40 craftworkers from all over Wales, all of whom produce unique, quality handmade products from jewellery and ceramics to woodwork and glass and everything between. The event is perfect for finding a truly special gift for someone special (or just treating yourself).
The Oriel Shop will also be selling a range of local produce and drinks from local distilleries which are more than worthy of any festive table.
